How big is a million?

I’ve always been interested in large numbers, but had a hard time comprehending them until I came up with the following solution which just converts them into seconds of time.

11.574 days = 1 million seconds

31.7 years = 1 billion seconds

31,710 years = 1 trillion seconds

I hate to think of the size of our national debt, or how much we’re spending in Iraq.  It will take us lifetimes to catch up.
